April 6 (Bloomberg) -- South African retail sales growth slowed to an annual 7.6 percent in February, from 11 percent in January, an industry group said.
A slide in CD and DVD sales weighed on total sales, the Johannesburg-based Retailers Liaison Committee said in an e- mailed statement today.
The industry group collates information supplied by companies including JD Group Ltd., Woolworths Holdings Ltd. and Shoprite Holdings Ltd. The figures don’t usually tally with official retail sales data from South Africa’s statistics agency, which surveys more companies and uses a different methodology.
